Permanent full-time Social Worker opportunity based at Logan Central, supporting children and young people through evidence-based mental health care within Metro South Health.
About this role
Your new role:
As a Social Worker with Logan Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS), you'll provide evidence-based, patient-centred mental health care to children and young people experiencing severe and complex mental health difficulties, working closely with families, carers and an experienced multidisciplinary team.
You'll do this by:
- Providing comprehensive mental health and risk assessments, therapeutic interventions and clinical management.
- Managing an allocated caseload, including effective prioritisation, documentation and discharge planning.
- Working collaboratively with young people, families, carers, health professionals and external agencies.
- Contributing to clinical case conferences, team meetings, quality improvement and research activities.
- Supporting the education and supervision of students and less experienced staff.
- Delivering care within a recovery-oriented and least restrictive framework.
About you:
We're looking for a compassionate and collaborative Social Worker who is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care and developing their clinical practice, with:
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work and eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Demonstrated ability to provide patient-centred mental health assessment and management within a Child and Youth Mental Health setting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively within an interprofessional team.
- A commitment to ongoing learning, professional development and evidence-based practice.
- The ability, or willingness to rapidly develop the skills, to support student education and training.
- An interest in contributing to service development, quality improvement and research.
