About this role
Your new role:
To co-ordinate and manage patient care and diagnosis on a daily basis, under the supervision of a Diagnostic specialist.
In addition, to provide assistance and guidance in the professional development of junior staff, medical students and non-medical staff, whilst continuing own professional development, in order to maximise the professional expertise offered to patients.
The position will be based in the Molecular Imaging Department providing – diagnostic PET (PET/CT and PET/MRI) and Theranostics services.
About you:
In consultation with treating specialist, ensure decisions regarding patient care are appropriate and plan ongoing specialist care.
Maintain appropriate comprehensive and concise documentation of all observations, opinions, diagnoses, other data and procedures undertaken.
Provide formal and informal ongoing on-the-job training and guidance to junior medical staff and students.
Provide education on Diagnostic Imaging, PET/CT, PET/MRI, and Theranostics through training seminars and tutorials to medical staff.
Contribute to and support clinical unit improvement activities, through identifying areas for improvement and participating in implementation.
Maintain up-to-date college mandated requirements and demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development, through self-directed learning and attendance at courses and training through the hospital.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.
We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management and organ transplants and are one of Australia's leading academic and research health centres. The PAH as a major medical research precinct hosts Australia's most advanced medical research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI) as well as a new Clinical Research Facility for the discoveries made at TRI to be trialed in a safe clinical environment.
We're expanding our hospital to make sure everyone gets the care they need. We're adding more beds, modernising our buildings, and improving our spaces to treat kidney and cancer patients with all new services and facilities planned to open by 2027.
