About this role
About us:
The SAGE Unit is located on the 5th floor of the Rockhampton Hospital. SAGE is specialised unit with 24-hour service focus, with inpatients ranging from short term to longer term. The SAGE Unit aims are to provide coordinated interdisciplinary discharge planning, prevent premature admission to a residential facility and prevent readmission to hospital.
About the role:
The Clinical Nurse performs at an advanced level and supports the delivery of competent, best practice, quality nursing care. The position plays an important role in guiding and supporting other nursing staff and working in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and other members of the interdisciplinary team in the management and development of clinical services.
- Possess a high knowledge base, accountability for practice, and function in accordance with legislation affecting nursing, and the protection of patients' rights.
- Assume accountability and responsibility for own actions and act to rectify unsafe nursing practices and/or unprofessional conduct.
- Use nursing knowledge and skills to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care and gain appropriate support to address patient care needs that are outside scope of practice.
About you:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- While not mandatory, post graduate qualifications or the equivalent in Aged Care, Continence, Cognition, Dementia and Wound Care Management would be highly desirable.
- Possess knowledge of teaching and learning principles and demonstrate an ability to apply these within the SAGE Unit.
- Demonstrated advanced level knowledge, skills, and leadership in contemporary practice in the fields of geriatric nursing care and rehabilitation.
- Demonstrated ability to provide clinical supervision and clinical support to less experienced nurses and nursing students.
- Identify, select, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions that have less predictable outcomes.
- Utilise the Queensland Health Nursing and Midwifery Staff Development Framework to support clinical teaching and learning strategies.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $100,104 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $56.08 - $60.05 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
