Services are delivered from Rockhampton and through outreach locations including Yeppoon, Emerald, Blackwater, and Biloela.
About the role:
- Provide specialist Alcohol and Other Drugs clinical nursing services within the Drug and Alcohol Brief Intervention Team (DABIT), supporting patients presenting to the Rockhampton Hospital Emergency Department.
- Deliver evidence-based screening, assessment, brief intervention, referral, and clinical consultation services, maintaining accurate and high-quality clinical documentation.
- Work collaboratively with senior nursing staff and the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive, person-centred care while promoting harm reduction and primary healthcare principles.
- Contribute to prevention, early intervention, health promotion, service development, quality improvement, research, and the ongoing enhancement of AOD service delivery.
- Build and share clinical expertise through professional development, education, and training activities, supporting both AOD clinicians and Emergency Department nursing and medical staff.
About you:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) and AHPRA is essential.
- Experience or qualifications in Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) services are desirable but not mandatory, with training and professional development opportunities provided.
- Ability to work independently and deliver safe, effective nursing care to individuals affected by alcohol and drug-related issues, including increasingly complex presentations.
- Strong clinical skills in assessment, treatment planning, case management, report writing, and multidisciplinary care coordination to ensure continuity of care.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, quality improvement, research, and service evaluation to enhance AOD service delivery and patient outcomes.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $11,604 p.m. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $57.48 - $61.55 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
