Make a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of communities across the Torres and Cape region while joining a dedicated rural healthcare team delivering high-quality, culturally appropriate medical services. Working within a Rural Generalist model of care, this role offers a diverse scope of practice across inpatient, emergency and primary healthcare settings in Cooktown and surrounding communities including Hope Vale, Wujal Wujal and Laura.
We welcome experience in rural medicine across hospital and primary healthcare environments, with advanced skills or training towards disciplines such as Anaesthetics, Obstetrics, Paediatrics or Mental Health. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong emergency and trauma management skills, work effectively within multidisciplinary teams, contribute to teaching and leadership activities, and be committed to improving health outcomes for rural, remote and Indigenous communities.
