About your role
Join our team of enthusiastic doctors and nurses in providing high quality colorectal surveillance care to patients at the Townsville University Hospital Surgical Outpatient Clinics.
PLEASE NOTE - This is a permanent part-time role, working 16 hours per fortnight.
Your Duties
- Provide Colorectal services to surveillance Colorectal patients at the Surgical Outpatient Clinics under the supervision of Colorectal surgeons.
- To independently manage patients on a weekly basis, liaising with General Practitioners to facilitate ongoing care in the community.
- Assist the department in coordinating the effective functioning of the clinic as required.
- Ensure notifications of results and appointment outcomes of all patients are provided to the patient's nominated General Practitioner in case of share care.
- Ensure referral to appropriate hospital outpatient departments or operating theatre (OT) Elective Surgery Waitlist after discussion with consultant.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records in accordance with legal requirements.
- Opportunity to develop additional clinical skills in Colorectal in a tertiary hospital is part of this role. A personal commitment to expand and update knowledge in the relevant clinical area as needed.
Skills and Experience
- Qualified as a medical practitioner and current registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Fellowship of either the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACCRM) or Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP).

Competitive salary and benefits:
We offer attractive remuneration packages and generous leave entitlements.
- Salary range: $87.25 to $124.13 p.h. (L13-L25)
- 5 weeks annual leave (pro rata) + 17.5% leave loading
